Mission

Support consistent, professional, strategic communication that strengthens the PPA brand, mission, and parent engagement.

Scope

Responsible for:

  • social media support 
  • communication scheduling 
  • approved content assistance 
  • messaging consistency 
  • engagement support 
  • public-facing communication coordination 


This committee protects organizational voice.

Expected Workload & Responsibilities

Estimated Time:
3–7 hours weekly


Responsibilities:

  • assist with content scheduling 
  • support approved graphics/posts 
  • monitor engagement 
  • help communicate events/updates 
  • maintain communication consistency 
  • support positive digital presence

Communication Expectations

Committee members are expected to:

  • only approved messaging is posted

Events & Hospitality Committee

Mission

Create organized, welcoming, and professionally executed events that strengthen community, trust, and parent engagement.

Scope

Responsible for:

  • event logistics 
  • setup/cleanup coordination 
  • hospitality 
  • volunteer support 
  • event flow 
  • parent experience at gatherings 


This committee manages operational atmosphere.

Expected Workload & Responsibilities

Estimated Time:
3–6 hours during event periods


Responsibilities:

  • coordinate event support needs 
  • assist with venue preparation 
  • support check-in processes 
  • manage hospitality elements 
  • coordinate volunteers 
  • assist with supplies/materials 
  • support smooth event execution

Communication Expectations

Committee members are expected to:

  • communicate timelines clearly 
  • confirm assignments promptly 
  • escalate operational concerns early 
  • maintain professionalism during events 
  • support collaborative problem-solving

Membership & Outreach Committee

Mission

Expand awareness, membership growth, and organizational visibility while maintaining alignment with PPA values and standards.

Responsible for:

  • membership recruitment 
  • outreach initiatives 
  • community awareness 
  • parent referrals 
  • relationship building 
  • growth support efforts 


This committee helps scale PPA responsibly.

2–5 hours weekly


Responsibilities:

  • support membership drives 
  • distribute approved outreach materials 
  • engage with prospective families 
  • support informational events 
  • assist with registration initiatives 
  • identify outreach opportunities 
  • coordinate parent interest follow-up

Parent Engagement Committee

Mission

Build meaningful parent connection, participation, inclusion, and retention within Panther Parent Alliance™.

  • increasing participation 
  • supporting parent involvement 
  • monitoring parent experience 
  • encouraging positive community culture 
  • helping families feel connected and informed 


This committee is the emotional front door of PPA.

Expected Workload & Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • welcome new members 
  • assist with onboarding communication 
  • support membership engagement activities 
  • identify parent concerns/trends 
  • encourage attendance at meetings/events

Resource Library Committee

Mission

Develop, organize, maintain, and protect valuable parent resources that support student and family success.

Responsible for:

  • organizing resources 
  • identifying parent needs 
  • maintaining digital resource systems 
  • helping ensure information quality and consistency 
  • protecting organizational materials 


This committee helps create institutional value.

Expected Workload & Responsibilities

  • assist with resource categorization 
  • identify resource gaps 
  • support updates and revisions

University Relations Committee

Support positive, professional, and collaborative relationship-building efforts between Panther Parent Alliance™ and Prairie View A&M University™ stakeholders.

  • identifying collaboration opportunities 
  • helping maintain constructive communication channels
